I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me Phillipians 4:13
This is my favorite verse in the Bible. Mostly because I grew up hearing my mom speak it over and over again and most of the time during some type of turmoil or struggle that was going on. Wow!! Does this mean I can do anything I want as long as I believe Jesus will give it to me? Cool, I can get a raise at work....and I can run a marathon without even having to train!!!! NO! It does NOT mean I can get anthing I want or do anything you want to. These are not magic words to manifesting things or situations in your life.
Paul writes: in Philippians 4
11 I am not saying this because I am in need, for I have learned to be contentx whatever the circumstances. 12 I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry,y whether living in plenty or in want.z 13 I can do all this through him who gives me strength.
What this verse really means is that God gives us strength to deal with ALL (not some) circustances that we are faced with through him (Jesus). Through Jesus meaning through having faith and trust in him, It means remaining rooted in him and having a relationship with him and living according to his instruction and his will. This is Paul's secret of being content.
Be content in all situations knowing that Jesus has your back!!! The enemy is counting on us getting discouraged, giving up, being fearful etc. He tries to control our minds with negative thoughts that lead to these negative emotions and then next thing you know he has a stronghold on us. He has found an open door to work his mischief in our lives. This gives him power and feeds his ego. Don't acknowledge the enemy by speaking defeat over any situation. Remember Jesus gives all the strength you need.
